Sweater Weather

Sweater weather is a time that I look forward to all year long. Sure throwing on shorts and tee is nice, but when the temperatures finally drop and I get to cuddle up in a thick knit, I'm truly in heaven. I love playing around with different sweaters whether that means trying out a fun pattern, or keeping things plain with a classic. I hope you love this time of year as much as I do, and find a little bit of inspiration in my newest post!

Overall Obsession

Recently I've been head over heels obsessed with the timeless trend, overalls. There are many reasons for this obsession of mine including the fact that they are perfectly acceptable to wear during any season. Any article of clothing that I can rock all year long, is one that I will definitely be purchasing. Yes, you can switch out the length and color of your overalls to make them more fitting, but this pair alone could be worn in so many different ways and weather conditions.

These overalls are from Madewell, one of my all time favorite places to purchase denim products (and flannels!). To me this pair of overalls is the perfect mix between a boyfriend and a skinny fit, and has just the right wash to style it for summer, spring, and fall.

As for accessories, I kept it pretty simple but fun by adding this wrap armband from Free People. (similar here) It adds a little bit more color to the look, and a boho touch.

My Birkenstocks have recently been my favorite shoes, and I've been wearing them like crazy for the last few weeks of warm weather. Styling the right shoe with a lighter wash overall like this can be tricky because you don't want the eye to be immediately drawn to your shoes, but to be balanced around the entire outfit. I love the way my Birks complete the look because they are not too heavy.

The very last touch that I added to my outfit was these reflective aviators from Francesca's. I think I am probably the last person on the planet to hop onto this trend, but I do really love reflective lenses, especially in such a fun color like this teal blue.

The warm weather is becoming very limited, so I am wearing my favorite summer pieces quite often before I have to let go. Leave a comment down below telling me what summer pieces you'll be missing the most during the upcoming fall season!!

The Peanut Shop.

One of my favorite things to do during the summer time is find old shops that keep the growing city I live in feel homey and intimate. Along with finding warm and cozy shops, I also have been obsessed with finding vintage pieces and styling them in my own way.

This white tennis skirt was my mom's from the 80s, and looked perfect paired with this button down shirt from Madewell. To give the shirt some life, I took a good old pair of scissors and chopped off the bottom, creating a more cropped look.

I snagged this powder blue bomber jacket at a local vintage store that I think would look awesome with some old patches on the front. I love taking pieces and adding just a little something to guarantee that no one will have anything like it, and that it will be a unique addition to my wardrobe.

Lastly, I threw on my high top black converse, which I think completed the outfit with the perfect effortless look. These shoes have recently become by favorite, and I wear them almost daily. They are extremely comfortable and are a great casual option for almost any outfit, not to mention super comfortable.

On a More Formal Note

While I typically do not blog about my dressier outfits, I could not refrain from sharing with you all this gorgeous cobalt blue mini dress by Stlylestalker. Since I have worn and constantly admired this dress, the color has become one of my favorites.

Besides the color, the interesting overlay design of the dress is something that caught my eye. The sweetheart neckline along with geometric pattern add to the already amazing and bold piece.

At first I was a tad hesitant about wearing these fringe stilettos from Steve Madden, but I am beyond happy that I chose to rock these awesome kicks on my night out. While walking was difficult, the shoes gave me a huge amount of confidence, and I think that they contrasted with, yet complimented the dress perfectly.

As for accessories, I added these gorgeous jewel earrings and clutch to dress the look up a little bit more. The teal color in the earrings adds a funky touch to the otherwise classic attire, and the clutch that I stole from my mother is the perfect size for my evening necessities.

When wearing this dress, I knew I would stand out from the crowd. Learn to wear pieces you love with confidence, and never be afraid to rock bright colors. Take risks in fashion, even if its a piece that typically falls outside of your comfort zone. Walk out the door in those five inch heels that you've always wanted to wear, and never turn back.

Boots & Hats

Spring is my favorite season, and because the weather where I live often goes in waves, I love to embrace nice weather when we have it! On this beautiful day, I decided to pair some black flowy shorts with a grey tee. To add an extra layer, I threw on a light washed unbuttoned denim shirt.

I added my favorite black floppy hat from free people to keep the sun out of my eyes and to give the look a bit of a bohemian feel. Floppy hats are one of my essentials for spring that I could not live without!

Lastly, I finished off the outfit with my funky blue cowboy booties. These shoes are a great transition from winter to spring, and are super comfortable!

Layering 101: Winter Weather

Where I live we have been experiencing quite a winter icepocalypse! In this setting, the only thing keeping my fashion sense stable is layering, layering, layering! In this outfit I just layered a few of my favorite winter pieces to stay warm and cozy, and look adorable!

I started out with the basics, a long sleeved grey turtleneck, black pants, and my favorite riding boots. These pieces are a great foundation for layering, and give you an (almost) blank canvas to work off of.

Next, I added this quarter sleeved denim shirt. I love this addition because it's polished, but casual at the same time.

The last layer that I added to the look was this big blanket Burberry cape (that I stole from my mom's closet). I am in love with this piece because it adds a cozy feel, and is extremely comfortable.

I hope you enjoyed this post and keep an eye out for more layering looks in the future!

Stay Warm!
